Americans Eat All Day Long

The growing obesity and diabetes problem in the U.S. is inconsistent with what Americans are reporting as their eating habits, so researchers set out to find out what exactly is going on.  In a study reported in the scientific journal, Cell Metabolism, in which scientists tracked real-world eating behavior by means of a newly designed mobile app,  researchers found that the recorded fact was different than what most Americans thought they were doing. More specifically, while many Americans reported that they confined their eating routine to a 10- to 12-hour window, the fact is that most Americans eat all day long!

In essence, the study authors found that whenever they were awake, people in the U.S. ate.  In fact, the only time they are not eating is when they are sleeping.  Which begs the question: With all that eating people are doing, how do they have any time left to be offended?
